Wedding photos

The title says it all.....

Getting ready:
My gorgeous sister K buttoning up my dress

My bridesmaids, K and C

My spunky husband in the middle with his groomswoman H and groomsman M (and brother - can't you tell??)

The Ceremony:

Our ceremony location - Marcoola beach

A gorgeous photo of my sister walking up the aisle.  Don't let her fool you, she IS crying...

My mum and dad walking me up the aisle.  This is the only photo where it doesn't look like I'm sprinting down the aisle.  I was seriously carrying my parents.  This is the only photo where I'm looking down too, as dad was standing on my train!

He just had something in both eyes apparently....

Love this photo!

My dad doing a reading.  He and my sister were crying, which made me start to cry.

This is what we were doing while dad was reading - a wine ceremony.

I was giggling because G just downed his glass of wine and our guests were asking for some.  I was just worried I would spill it on my dress!

Exchanging of rings

Walking back down the aisle as Mr and Mrs Y

This photo is very much us - me laughing after G has said something dodgy

My sister

How gorgeous are they?  T and K.  She's also the younger sister, but towers over me.

The boys - my sister's partner T, my spunky husband, and C's husband K (who was also our photographer).  What's not to love about this photo???  They're BFFs.

Our bridal party and parents.
R to L: G's brother M, G's cousin H, G's father, G's mother, my mum, my dad, my sister K, and C.  Don't know who those two crazy kids are....

Bridal party.  C and G fighting as usual - they are like brother and sister.  I don't know how anyone gets any work done in that place!

Us with G's Nan, Eileen.  LOVE her to pieces.  She's in her 80s, goes on lots of cruises, drinks chardonnay at every occasion, and her friends call her the "toy boy magnet" (she apparently attracts men in their 60s).

Yes, that's my husband groping K's boyfriend.  Look closely at everyone's faces in this....This should be our Christmas greeting card I think...

Location shots (The Boardwalk at Mt Coolum, and Marcoola beach):

This is one of my favourites.

Love this one too.  We have the high res version but it's too big to put up here.

This one is also very us.  G is pretending to scowl at me (as he often does) and I was actually trying to bite his nose.  Yeah, we're weird....

The Reception (Spinnaker room at Surfair Resort, Marcoola):

Our table centrepieces - mirrored runner with candles and three vases of hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus and something else (I can't remember the name!)  They had a beautiful fragrance.

Our dinner menu and bonfav - a box to fill at our lolly bar.  Unfortunately our photographer didn't get a photo of this in time....it was emptied within 5 minutes!

This is why......
G's cousins, H and C

Our photobooth.  These are my inlaws.....

Some of my friends, re-enacting our table numbers.  I think R, in the middle, has got my face the best.

G's father's speech - it was hilarious!  We sat on our own bridal table so we could have some time to ourselves.  It worked really well!

Cutting our cake from Poppy Cakes.  The top layer was chocolate and the bottom layer was red velvet, all smothered in vanilla buttercream.  Sooooo good.

My reception shoes.  G also got socks to match.  Awwww.  (How hot were the shoes though??)

Dilemmas....

I'm having one of those days.  You know the ones....EVERYTHING seems to go against you.  My brain also seems to be misplaced.  If anyone sees it, can they send it back my way?

We got our wedding photos back the other day.  They're not great.  While our friends took the photos, they are professional photographers so they should know better.  We got all raw photos.  The only ones that are edited are CLEARLY done on auto edit.  Also, the ones of the whole bridal party are horrible - my bridesmaids are cut out!

You would think after doing it for so many years, they would be on top of things.  They both have very high tech digital cameras, and had been checking the photos as they went (apparently to make sure the photos were good.....what on earth were they doing???)  I am very upset and, because they're our friends, we don't know what to do.  On one hand, they did it for us for free (saving us A LOT of money).  On the other hand, they're professionals and apparently our friends, so they should have given us photos that were amazing because they know us so well.  Any suggestions for what to do?

There's only one cure for a shocking day.
Well that helps, but not what I was thinking in this instance.

That's good too, but not good enough.....

Ahhhh, what's better than Bradley Cooper without a shirt?  Oh, of course, my husband :)

The new Mr and Mrs Y.

I'm back...but as Mrs Y!

Oh my poor little blog. I have neglected you! I am actually back now as all the drama is done. Yes, that's right, I'm now Mrs Y.

I was a little stressed in the week leading up to the wedding. Brisbane suffered torrential rain and our backyard and house (as well as our ceremony location) flooded. When we got up the coast to our wedding venue, all worries subsided when I saw the absolutely perfect weather.

The view from our balcony.

Friday was probably in my top 5 all time favourite days ever (the wedding day would be my number 1 of course!). Everyone was relaxed (may have had something to do with the beer and wine flowing) and having fun setting up our reception room together. My mum, dad, sister K (my MOH), her boyfriend T, my other bridesmaid C, and her husband K (our photographer) all came to help set up and arrange the flowers and it was so much fun.

After setting everything up, we had our ceremony rehearsal and then a big dinner for everyone who was staying at the resort. This was also a great idea as everyone said they felt included, and that it set the scene for the type of wedding we were having.

Saturday, my wedding day, dawned even more perfect than the day before. G and I stayed together the night before the wedding and I think it was another perfect decision for us. It helped me from feeling stressed and allowed us to see our reception room one last time over breakfast, before going our separate ways.

The day really did fly by. I couldn't believe how quickly it went. One minute I was having my hair and makeup done, then I was about to walk up the aisle, then I was officially Mrs Y. There were a few little things that didn't go well (our venue served Cajun potatoes after I specifically asked them not to as I'm allergic to pepper and my SIL is allergic to chilli. They served the entrees before we even got there...and we were running early. They also didn't collect some of our things from the beach when we went to have photos after promising they would. The result? Our toasting glasses from the ceremony, along with the wine, candles and baskets were stolen. The music man, G's boss, also took it upon himself to just play whatever music he wanted, resulting in songs being changed while people were dancing). Did it matter? No, because at the end of the day I was married to G.

The best things?
- our DIY photobooth
G and I with his family

- our lolly bar (I really hope our photographer got a photo of the mad rush!)
More photos of this coming soon.

- finally being married to G :)
